On Being Here
A note on why I write
I have less than 100 years on this planet. Probably much less. That's not a morbid thought — it's a clarifying one. It's the reason I started writing.
For most of my life I consumed ideas without producing them. I read books, listened to podcasts, had conversations, and let the thoughts dissolve. I'd have an insight in the shower and forget it by lunch. I'd read something that changed how I saw the world and, six months later, struggle to remember what it was.
Writing fixes that. When you write something down, you're forced to actually understand it. You can't hide behind vague impressions. The sentence either makes sense or it doesn't.
Who is this for?
Mostly for me. This is a personal archive — a record of what I think and learn as I move through the world. If I'm lucky, future-me will read these posts and be grateful that past-me wrote them down.
But if someone else finds this useful, I'm genuinely happy about that. The best thing that can happen when you publish your thinking is that someone reads it and says: I've been thinking about this too.
What I'll write about
My interests don't fit neatly into one category. I studied physics. I work in banking. I spend a lot of time thinking about technology, consciousness, markets, and what it means to be alive in this particular moment in history.
So that's what I'll write about. Technology, finance, philosophy — and whatever else I can't stop thinking about. No fixed schedule, no editorial calendar. Just notes, when I have something worth saying.
A note on quality
I'm not trying to write perfectly. I'm trying to write honestly. Some of these posts will be half-formed ideas. Some will be wrong. That's fine — I'd rather publish something imperfect than not publish at all.
The perfect is the enemy of the good. And the good, published, is infinitely more useful than the perfect, sitting in a draft folder.
If you disagree with something I've written, I'd genuinely like to hear from you. The contact page is there for a reason.
